- 5 og sidste dag for denne omgang på Anglesey i Wales, havde vi perfekte forhold til en tur ud til de ikoniske klippeøer og fyrtårnet The Skerries ( Ynysoedd y Moelrhoniaid ), ca. 12 km. nordøst for Holyhead, ca. 6 km. nordøst fra Cemlyn bay, og ca. 3 km. fra nordøst Carmel Head. Vi kørte til den smukke strand og bugt ved Cemlyn, en del af The National Trust.
- 5th and last day of this trip on Anglesey in Wales, we had perfect conditions for a paddle out to the iconic rocky islands and the lighthouse, The Skerries (Ynysoedd y Moelrhoniaid), ca. 12 km. nordøst for Holyhead, ca. 6 km. nordøst fra Cemlyn bay, og ca. 3 km. fra nordøst Carmel Head. - En lille og fin gratis p-plads lige ned til vandet. På selve p-pladsen kan kun personbiler komme ind på, men der er lidt plads til varebiler i rabatten lige uden for.
- A small and nice free parking space right next to the water. In the car park itself, only cars can enter, but there is little space for vans along the small road just outside.

- Vi ror nord om øen, og selv om jeg har været der 4-5 gange før så er det en særlig oplevelse, det er virkeligt et smuk sted at besøge når vind og vejr tillader turen dertil.
- We paddle north of the island, and although I have been there 4-5 times before it is a special experience, it is really a beautiful place to visit when wind and weather allow the trip there.
- På Skerries vestside er der en lille bugt hvor det er muligt at lande på en lille stenstrand, det er dog en god ide at holde lidt øje med kajakkerne, da stranden ved højvande nogle gange kan forsvinde.
- On the west side of The Skerries there is a small bay where it is possible to land on a small pebble beach, however, it is a good idea to keep an eye on the kayaks, as the beach at high tide can sometimes disappear.

- On the rocks lie the gray seals and curiously looking at us.

- Vi er tæt på spring hvor tidevandet løber ved fuld fart løber op til 6 kn. så til krydset på de 6 km. retur skal den sejlende kurs også beregnes.

- An amazing day ends back in Cemlyn Bay in the October sun. The Skerries is rightly iconic, calculating the impact of the tide, lots of Atlantic gray seals, a myriad of Arctic terns during the breeding season, the lighthouse, stunning views and the history of the rocky islands.
- Vi lander på stenstranden efter 5 mindeværdige dage på vandet. Efter en uge, der havde budt på masser af fantastiske oplevelser og masser af læring, blev kajakkerne læsset på bilerne for sidste gang på denne tur.
Angleseys kystlinien byder på strøm, tidevand og udfordrende vand, høje klipper, grotter, rock gardens, smalle kløfter, ruiner med spændende historie, klippeøer, klippeskær, fuglekolonier, Atlantisk gråsæler, imponerende fyrtårne, strande også med muligheder for rigtig fin surf osv. osv. Den eksponeret del af kysten viser med alt tydelighed hvor kraftig påvirkning elementerne har på øen. Anglesey er virkelig et besøg værd, så hvis man har muligheden for at besøge området, så tag den. Denne tur var 8. gang for mig, og der er stadig meget jeg endnu ikke har oplevet - så jeg har en undskyldning jeg kan bruge over for min hustru og sige at jeg lige må afsted en gang mere :-)
- We land on the shingle beach after 5 memorable days on the water. After a week that had offered lots of amazing experiences and lots of learning the kayaks was loaded on the cars for the last time on this trip.
Anglesey's coastline offers tides and challenging waters, high cliffs, caves, rock gardens, narrow gorges, ruins with intriguing history, rocky islands, skerries, bird colonies, Atlantic gray seals, impressive lighthouses, beaches also with opportunities for really nice surfing etc. etc. The exposed part of the coast clearly shows how powerful the elements are on the island. Anglesey is really worth a visit, so if you have the opportunity to visit the area, take it. This trip was the 8th time for me and there is still a lot I have not experienced yet - so I have an excuse I can use to my wife and say I just have to go one more time :-)
- Efter en hyggelig aften og en god nats søvn, køre vi næste morgen ned til Dover for at tage færgen til Dunkerque i Frankrig. Mens vi køre tilbage, med smil på læben, masser af oplevelser og lærring drømmer jeg allerede om muligheden for at komme tilbage til Anglesey.
På denne tur havde jeg meldt mig Rough water and adventure week, med 5 dage på vandet med BCU 5 star coach Nick Cunliffe og Kelly Marie Henri.

- After a lovely evening and a good night's sleep, we drive the next morning to Dover and take the ferry to Dunkirk in France. As we drive back, with big smiles, lots of experiences and learning, I am already dreaming of an opportunity to come back to Anglesey.
On this trip I had signed up for a Rough water and adventure week, with 5 days on the water with BCU 5 star coach Nick Cunliffe and Kelly Marie Henri.
