- Vi mødtes 4 glade havkajakroer for at tage en tur fra Rungsted, over Øresund, til den svenske ø Hven.
- We met 4 happy sea kayakers for a day paddling from Rungsted harbor on the east coast of North Zealand, to do the crossing og the Sound between Denmark and Sweden, to the Swedish island of Hven.
- Fra Rungsted er der et 8 km. åbent kryds til Kyrkbacken på Hvens nordvestkyst, en lille hyggelig by og havn.

- Stranden ved Kyrkbacken emmer af liv om sommeren. De hyggelige huse langs stranden og omkring havnen er typisk svenske - utroligt hvor stor forskel der er på husene her på Hven som er Svensk, sammenlignet med husene kun 8 km. herfra på Sjælland.
- The beach at Kyrkbacken is full of life in the summer. The cozy houses along the beach and around the harbor are typically Swedish - incredible how much difference there is between the houses here on the island of Hven which is Swedish, compared to the houses only 8 km. from here on Zealand which is Danish.
- Vi passere den lille havn på vej ned langs vestkysten. Om sommeren er ishuset bestemt et besøg værd, inden man går en tur gennem byen op til kirken hvorfra udsigten er fantastisk.
- We pass the small harbor on our way down the west coast. In the summer, the ice cream shop is definitely worth a visit before taking a walk up through the town to the church from where the views are stunning.

- Vi havde en tid vi skulle være tilbage ved bilerne, så vi tager samme rute retur, men det giver os så en god grund til at komme tilbage for at ro hele vejen rundt om øen en anden gang.
- We had a time we had to be back by the cars so we take the same route back but that gives us a good reason to come back to paddle all the way around the island another time.

- På stenmolen opdager vi en mår - det er første gang for mig at se sådanne en fra havkajakken (på stenene til venstre i vandkanten).
- At the stone pier we see a marten - it is the first time for me to see such a one from the sea kayak (on the rocks to the left at the water's edge).

- We turn our backs on each other, the marten slips in between the rocks and we start the crossing back towards Rungsted.

- Og bestemt ikke mindre fascinerende synes jeg det er, når der samtidig stort set ikke genereres nogle bølger fra skibet.
- And I find it absolutely no less fascinating that virtually no waves are generated from the ship.
- Vi har Øresund næsten helt for os selv.
- We have the Sound almost entirely to ourselves.

- With the sun in our eyes, the paddle head back towards Rungsted.

- Vi kommer tilbage til Rungsted og slutter dagen i lige så fantastisk vejr som vi startede med.
- We return to Rungsted and end the day in just as great weather as we started with.
